why???
Gotta get something off my chest. Why on earth can’t a guy compliment a girl without people getting the wrong idea? Is our rep that bad?
Well, the reason I bring this up is because in the past 6 months, there have been two seperate occasions where I complimented a girl and got reactions that I didn’t really like all that much. And for some reason, I think about it every so often. The first time, I was talking to some friends about Urbana 03 and about the worship team there. I commented on how I really enjoyed it when the Korean girl lead and thought she was a great worship leader. Immediately, the only girl in the car (also the only other person in the car who had been to Urbana 03 also) went off about how so many of her guy friends developed a crush on her. That was not what I was saying at all! I just thought she was really spirit led when she worshipped! The second time, I was having dinner with some other friends and I commented on how one of my (guy) friend’s sister was really cool. Again, immediately, the only girl there pipes up and was like “oooooo, you (my guy friend) better watch out for Jon!”. gah!!! I then had proceed to explain how that wasn’t what I was saying at all, I was just saying how lucky he is to have a sister as cool as her.
*sigh* Why do girls have to assume we have the wrong intentions whenever we give a compliment? Can’t you give us the benifit of the doubt? Maybe it’s not just the girls. Maybe us guys have just screwed up our rep so bad that people think that all we ever think about is girls. *sigh* (again). I don’t know what to do, I just needed to let that out.
On another note, World Trade Center looks like it’s going to be a pretty hype movie and a real tear-jerker. The website is really well done too. One of the best designed websites I’ve ever seen. Anybody up for watching it sometime soon?

long weekends and patio nights
It’s been a while since I’ve written anything, so here’s a little update. Went home last weekend for the long weekend. Lots of fun and rest. Good home cooking. Saw Talladega nights with Jeff & Peters. Good times. “Watch your mouth, you little pot-licker, or I’ll throw you in a microwave!” 
Ran into Phil at the train station and rode back with him and Steve to T dot. We actually got into a serious conversation about the Harry Potter books and whether or not Snape is evil and if Dumbledore is dead or not. Kind of funny now that I think about it, never thought I’d have such a serious conversation about a kids book.
Back at work on Tuesday. Almost done, couple more weeks. Pretty uneventful since Tuesday except for last night. Went out to eat with Niki, Gizelle, Jon Shui & Andrea after worship practice at Thai Paradise. Perfect weather for eating on the patio. Great idea Jon! I even got a free meal out of it. All I had to do was eat the remaining hot sauce. mmmm….paid for that today in the washroom…ah well, it was worth it.
Testing out this new browser, Flock. An all in one browser where I’m suppose to be able to blog and post photos right from the browser directly. So far so good.

missions, markers, & menus
Saw MI3 with Gizelle last night. Awesome movie, definitely recommend it to everyone, especially Alias fans. It was like watching a 2 hour long Alias episode. Go Marshal MI3 equivalent! Sooo good, even if Tom Cruise is a little crazy outside his movies.
Had another Brazil missions trip meeting this afternoon. Lots of fun! We put the camp schedule on 4 large pieces of paper with colourful magic markers! It was like we were in primary school again doing art class! Turned out really well and it was awesome smelling those smelly markers again, brings back memories of younger days, mmmm…mango marker (turquoise = mango??? go figure).
Ginormous lunch crew after church today, there was like 16 of us crowded around a table at House of Gourmet. But it was awesome, hadn't been out for lunch with these guys forever. Carny was there too! First time seeing her since she came back to the GTA. It was also the last time I'll see Nicole till next school year, she's going back to Singapore tomorrow morning. Have a good flight & sweet summer Nicole, I'll miss ya!
